Julianna Watson won the Tellus Science Museum Award, which includes an invitation to display her project at the Tellus Science Museum (a Smithsonian Affiliate science museum) in Cartersville, Georgia from April 29, 2017 to May 29, 2017. Watson is shown receiving her award from the Museum Executive Director Jose Santamaria and Cantey Smith, the Tellus Museum Director of Education. The award included a $100.00 cash award and recognition at a special luncheon for the exhibitors and their guests/family. Only 16 projects were chosen from all of the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair entries to be included in the Future Science Stars exhibit. Watson advanced to the state-level science fair in Athens this past April after she won a first place ribbon in the school-system-level Thomasville Science and Engineering Fair and a first place ribbon at the regional-level Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Science Fair.
